Wyatt @ 2 weeks old

Wyatt was 2 weeks old on May 14th

Wyatt, here is what you are up to at 2 weeks:

-You are wearing newborn and some 0-3 month clothing

-You are wearing newborn & size 1 diapers. We are trying to use up all of your newborn diapers, because you are going to be a full blown size 1 soon!

-You got weighed at your 2 week check up and are 10# 4oz!!!!

-You are 23 inches long, 100th percentile!

-You got exclusively breastfed in the hospital, but had jaundice.  When I was asked to pump to see what volume you were getting, I was barely getting an oz.  So, you have gotten some Similac for Supplementation in addition to breastmilk. Mommy is pumping like crazy so that we will have enough to keep up with you!  You take 4oz every 2 hours during the day & wake up ~twice at night.

-You sleep in the pack 'n' play next to our bed at night.  You usually take your last bottle around 10pm, we change you, swaddle you,  & love on you before putting you down.  You wake up ~1am & 4am to eat. Then you wake up ~7am for the day.  You start eating every 2 hours again after that.

-We swaddle you at nighttime.  We tried to let you keep your hands out of the swaddle so that you could have them by your face like you like, but mommy quickly realized that you sleep better with your arms down by your side in the swaddle.

-You are so tolerant of big sis! She absolutely adores you but can be a little rough ( to be expected of a 3yr old!). She loves to give you your paci, pick out your next diaper, & feed you.

-You are such a sweet boy. You cry when you are hungry, but that's it.  You look around, often going cross-eyed in an attempt to focus, or sleep peacefully.

-You have brown hair that seems to have some wave/curl to it when wet, but we have no idea if it will be curly like Big Sis.  You have a thicker patch of hair in a strip down the top center of your head, perfect for a mohawk! :)

-You like your bouncy seat, vibrating seat, and swing.  You are pretty much happy anywhere.

-You seem to recognize mama's voice fairly well but obviously don't track our movements or focus on us well.

-You are gripping anything in your path. You don't have control over your mouth, arm, or leg movements but if there's a hand in your way, you'll grab it. Also, while you're nursing, taking a bottle, or just cuddling on mama's chest, you grab at my clothes or skin.

-You have gotten lots of baths & you seem to love it! You get a little upset when we take you out of the warm water to dry off.  You seem to have very sensitive skin, so we have found that Mustela soap works really well.

-You went to the pool for the first time but just cuddled with mommy and slept while Kinsley Anne and Daddy swam.

You have been such a huge blessing to our family.  You are the puzzle piece that we have been waiting on to complete our family.  It feels so natural having you here with us, like you've always been a part of our family! I hope that you will grow up knowing just how loved and adored you are.  You will forever have a defender and best friend in your big sister & I hope that you grow to be close to her just like I am with my sister.  You will also have protectors and cheerleaders in your mama & daddy and I hope you know that we will always be your #1 fan in anything and everything that you do.

We love you wider than the sky,
 Mama & Daddy

Psalm 139: 13-14    For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
