What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey yall! I'm sorry that my blog has been a bunch of Wednesday posts lately. There will be many more posts to come SOON! Kinsley Anne's birthday party is coming fast & I have been a busy little beaver preparing & crafting.

Nonetheless...here is What I'm Loving this Wednesday...

{1} My awesome husband. I found this on pinterest & gave it to Kyle on Sunday. He gets his "medicine" each day which is a word of encouragement (and love) along with a little snack for the day as well. I used mini M&Ms, mini Reese cups, & trail mix.

{2} I love my Kinsley bear. She has been sick again. The poor thing just started out with viral crud that everyone has had. But she didn't clear hers as well as everyone else did. We ended up in the pediatrician's office Friday evening for a couple hours with a fever of 102, fast breathing, and oxygen levels not coming above 95%. Poor thing needed breathing treatments, lots of motrin, TLC, and augmentin. But she is now feeling much better. I said last week...if only I had a paci, a raffy, and my mommy to rock me when I wasn't feeling well.....

{3} I love that Kinsley Anne loves the puppies so much. She does everything they do. Carries stuff in her mouth, gets in their crates, etc. However, the crate thing is a bad idea as she sneezes for hours afterwards. Stupid allergies. ha
{4} I love these frozen Reese cups that I made. They were yummmmmy & so easy.

{5} I am loving that Harvest Day was a success!! I got to spend time with a good friend, Kasey & her little girl Hadley.

{6} And these fall sweaters..

I hope that yall have a great week & I will be posting lots more soon!!!!!

Until Next Time..

What I'm Loving Wednesday

{1} I am loving my husband. My current priority is making more of an effort to show him my appreciation "for the little things." It sounds crazy, but pinterest but has been so helpful with giving me ideas!

{2} I am loving my sweet girl. Here is your sneak peek for her party...

{3} I am loving these fall pieces..

{4} I am loving that my parents & Nanny come to see me (and Kinsley & Kyle, I guess. HA!) in 1 week!!! yay.

{5} I love that the 30th annual Harvest Day Festival is this weekend! I also love that it kicks off fall in my book, which means that summer decor changes to fall decor in my household THIS weekend!!!

{6} I love that Kinsley Anne attended her 1st NICU reunion at the hospital yesterday. We met up with several families that were in at the same time as us. We were reminded again how blessed we are! She got a picture with her NICU attending & the Greenville Hospital "Buddy Bear!" She took home a toy that she loves playing with already. I will post pictures so you can see "how far we've come" this week.

Until Next Time..

Kinsley Anne @ 11 months!!!

Kinsley Anne,
Today you are 11 months old. When did this happen? How is it that in 1 short month you will no longer be a baby, but you will be a toddler? You will always be my baby. But each day, you lose that baby look and gain more toddler. At 11 months, here is what you do...

  • You are wearing size 3 Pampers cruisers. I have tried Huggies, Target, and various others. But I just can't do it. I am a Pampers mom.
  • You're wearing size 12 month pants. You still can wear some 6-9 month onesies because you have a shortish torso with long legs (hello, you are your mother's frame...). You can wear 9 month onesies OK as well but all of your 12 month onesies need to have the sleeves rolled & look as though you have swallowed an elephant...ok, not really, but they're large on you.
  • Wave "hey" & "bye bye." You even have said "hey" several times. It's rather funny. You don't necessarily do it appropriately, but it's still awesome.
  • Sign "all done." You do this when you're finished eating, are ready for bed because you're tired, or any other appropriate time to tell us you're done.
  • Drinking out of a sippy cup!! This is major as we have had "suck" problems. You did not like straws, so we found you the take 'n' toss cups and you love them. I thought we were going to have to go back to the occupational therapist. But, you did it! Just on your own schedule. You can, for the record, suck out of a straw now too, though.
  • Say dada, mama, nana, & have started to form "no." When you say "no," you hit your hand down. You don't have a temper or anything.
  • Call all animals "sisses." You caught onto us saying horses and you've now named every moving thing that. Dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, hamsters, bunnies, you name it.
  • Feed the horses with Nonie (Kyle's mom) anytime you go over there. You love it. You call to the horses too. Nonie whistles & you growl at them.
  • Read books. You, of course, love animal books most right now. But you are very into flipping pages and talking to the books. The other night, while skyping with my mom, we were reading a book while you sat in your adirondack chair. There was a bee house that you flip down & anytime you flipped it down, I would say "bzzzzz" and tickle you. You just about fell out of your chair with laughter. You are one ticklish little girl.
  • Standing for as long as you please, unassisted. You can stoop & recover without help as well.
  • Taking up to 4 steps independently. But, of course, only on her terms. When she wants to.
  • Becoming very attached to those you know. You get very upset if someone walks out of the room. You must say bye to them, love on them, then get redirected in order for them to be able to leave.
  • Getting 3 more teeth. You have your bottom left tooth & your top right just poked through. Your top left & bottom right are right under the gum. You've had a little bit of a hard time with this.
  • Most definitely have allergies. You take 1/2 of a benedryl dose mixed with a full Zyrtec dose each night. You were doing awesome with significantly reduced secretions, less snots, less coughing, etc. We missed 1 dose Thursday night & we are paying the price. You've got green snot and you're coughing again. BAD MOMMY!
  • You've just turned into your very own person. You are so alive with personality. You show your feelings on your face much more. We all know when you are happy, upset, excited, etc just by looking at your face. We love being with you and it's hard to make you go to bed at night.
Kinsley Anne,
Each night these days, I have rocked you to sleep. Not because you want me to, but mainly because I've been shedding a few tears. Tears of joy, tears of sadness, tears of heartache. I am so overwhelmed with God's graciousness. He has provided us with a little girl that has grown into such a joy of an 11 month old. You are developing on time & even sometimes ahead of schedule! Despite the hurdles you have had to jump. I am joyful because of these things. Your laughter, your smiles, your pure love of life fill my heart with an elation that I wasn't aware existed. However, you change daily & it is a constant reminder that before I turn aruond you will be running ahead of me, begging me to hurry up. Then, you will be starting school, then extracurricular activities, and on and on. My mind sometimes races ahead & I have to beg it to slow down. I am trying my best to savor every.single.sweet.moment. And these days, I must say, I am doing better at that. I love you so much that it sometimes hurts. That is where my heartache comes from. I heard this quote from Elizabeth Stone & it is oh so true: "Making the decision to have a child - It's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body." I pray for your regularly. I pray that the Lord would guide you in all that you do. That your mommy & daddy would help direct you on the right path in life & give you wings that allow you to fly and soar. Kinsley Anne, I have faith in you. I know that you are going to be a happy little girl. A happy young woman. A happy wife & mother one day. I have faith that you will be strong. Independent. Courageous. Optimistic. Caring. Wise. I have faith that you will love deeply. Laugh often. Live fully. Both your mommy & daddy love you to the moon & back. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS. & FOREVER.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Good morning! I am so relieved that it is halfway through the work week. Last week, even though it was a 4 day week, drug on and on. I am happy to report that this week is going by much faster! So, because it's Wednesday, here is what I'm Loving Wednesday!

{1} the pictures I took for Kinsley Anne's birthday invitations. Yes, I ended up making them myself. I am slightly perturbed about this, but they turned out absolutely awesome & I am excited. I originally ordered customs on Etsy, but after 1 week of little response from the vendor, I decided I was up against a wall & needed them done faster than she was willing to work. I will show you them as soon as they arrive in people's mailboxes. That will be your only sneak peek to the party! Don't worry. It's a big hint.
love her Levi's skinny leg jeggings.
and no, these are not the birthday pictures. HA

{2} my husband and all that he does for our family. He works so hard & his efforts do not go unnoticed. I am working on my recognition of the things he does for us. If you didn't have a chance to check out his singing talents on my previous post, watch the video here. Just for clarification, he is not the guy with the mic, but the whole group is quite talented! haha.

{3} these monogrammed Jack Rogers. Yes, they are $158. But, I want them in beige & technically I could wear them with everything.

{4} this Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag. No, I'm certainly not pregnant. But I never really stopped looking at baby goods. I am sort of fascinated by all things baby. And probably will always be.
{5} ice chips. not just any ice chips, but the kind that are cylinder shaped and resemble small nuggets. Anyone out there know what I'm talking about? I've been bringing my big Tervis to work just so I can fill it with that kind of ice from the ice maker downstairs & eat off of it throughout the day!
yes, I did find a picture!

{6} the Lilly dress that I scored at $220 savings this past weekend. The end of the season sale was going on at a huge mall near the wedding we were at & they only had 1 of these dresses left so it was marked wayyy down. I got lucky, because it was my size! I am in love with it for next spring/summer. Would have been great for my rehearsal dinner 3 years ago!
So, What are you loving? Hop over to Jamie's blog & let us know!

Until Next Time..

The Beautiful Sound of Citadel Men...

I married a Citadel Man. A man in uniform. It is a beautiful thing. But something even more beautiful than that, is listening to him & his friends sing to women. They do this at all of their weddings (if there are enough of them there). We went to a wedding this weekend where the groom was a Citadel grad. So, we got to listen to the beautiful sound of the Citadel grads serenading the bride. Aundrea took it all in stride & smiled her radiant smile, as always, through the whole song...or whole first stanza, I should say. Take a listen...

I hope you enjoyed that half as much as I did. See you tomorrow for What I'm loving Wednesday! I am so excited that tomorrow we are already half way through the week!

Until Next Time..

September Eleven. Ten Years Later.

We all have our own stories. But they all root from one series of events. I was a junior in high school, sitting in my photography class. My teacher got a phone call, turned the TV on, and we watched a plane fly into a building. I honestly don't know what ran through my head at that moment. I wanted to believe that the pilot fell asleep. However, knowing that that was the 2nd strike, I knew that that was unlikely.

My name was called down to the office. My dad had come home from work to pick me up. He also brought my neighbor, Rachel, home as well. After getting home, I remember retreating to my room and sitting in shock as I watched the news. I asked my dad where they'd strike next. I was truly & honestly scared for my life. For the lives of those I loved. We lived between Philadelphia & Baltimore, two pretty big cities. Pretty much dead center of NYC & D.C. How far would these people take this? Would they come after us? What did they want from us? I remember that eventually my dad made me turn the news off. I am grateful for that. I needed him to shield me, to protect me from all that would air on the news that night. I was scared for my sister. She had started at Clemson. She was 10 hours from home, away from family & the comforts of the safety she was used to. I am uncertain how long it took to fall asleep on that Tuesday night, but I can assure you it was longer than normal. Yes, I was a junior in high school, but I was still so much a child. I had had the benefit of living in a home where violence was not a part of life. I had never been exposed to anything like that before.

It is hard to imagine that that horribly memorable day was 10 years ago. 10 years ago, today, 2,977 people lost family members, loved ones, heroes. Hard to fathom. I will never forget that stir of emotions that that day created for me. I will never forget how the nation came together. I will never forget how God protected all of us in a time of turmoil. I will never forget and I pray that you will never forget as well.

God Bless America.

Until Next Time..

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Good Morning Yall! Today is going to be a good day! Not sure why, but it is. For pete's sake, it's already Wednesday!! I love short work weeks. Let's cut to the chase. I'm linking up with Jamie at This Kind of Love, so here's what I'm loving today...

{1} my hubs! We are doing a bible study called Marriage Built to Last by Chip Ingram. It is fabulous & I highly suggest it, even for the most solid of marriages.

{2} this little girl & her love of all animals. She now calls all animals horses ("siss")

{3} that Clemson won! granted they played Troy, but it is the small teams that will frequently sneak up on you & win, so I am relieved! and if I do say so myself, this little girl looked mighty cute cheering for her tigers!!

{4} that I found $99 jeans for $34.99 AND a $89.00 Kenneth Cole Hobo bag for $29.99 at T.J.Maxx yesterday! I love the thrill of a good buy! The hobo is my cheap "catch all" version of the LV I posted last week.

{5} that I have cleaned & decluttered my kitchen, guest bedroom, & living room to my liking. Now, to tackle the study, K's nursery, & the dining room over the next 1-2 weeks. That will conquer the larger 1/2 of the house. I will be satisfied with that. Then I can slowly tackle our master suite & my crafting area, laundry area, etc. I want my house in tip top shape but have realized that it takes time & patience.

{6} that I'm ordering an erin condren life planner this week. I believe it will help me with my budgeting goals & overal organization. Anyone have one? Anyone have any coupon/discount codes? And how am I supposed to decide on a design when I am one of the most indecisive beings on Earth?!

What are you loving this Wednesday?

Until Next Time..
Love, Jen
