What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey Yall! I hope that you are all having a great week. This week has been especially energetic (see yesterday's post) for me. Not sure why, but I'm glad. I have been extraordinarily tired recently..until this week. I am happy to have my energy back & am looking forward to taking advantage of it throughout my house. 2 rooms down, many more to go! Anyway, today, as with every Wednesday, I'm linking up with Jamie at This Kind of Love for....

This week, I am loving....

{1} my sweet little family!

...in one picture! minus me..
my parents had someone paint head shots of the pups for our anniversary

this big gummy grin is just too much. it melts my heart.
anddd. by the way, these overalls were mine when I was a kid. looking good, eh?

{2} That Kinsley Anne's birthday party is ONE month from today. And my parents & Nanny are flying down for it!!!! yay.

{3} That Kinsley Anne's birthday party outfit came in the mail this week & I am using two colors that I do not frequently use for her. But, I LOVE them. & no, I am not revealing much about it beforehand. It will all be a surprise. I am super dee dooper to be planning her party.

{4} this gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous {did i mention gorgeous} watch. love the gold & tortoise shell. Kyle says it looks camo, I say it looks like it should be mine. what say you?

{5} this pretty girl. i know, it's ridiculously priced, but it's the perfect size for diapers, wipes, K's bottle, snacks, and toys, my wallet, my water bottle, and all the other crap that gets shoved into kinsley's bag & my purse!

QUICK! Take My Temperature!

Kinsley Anne has an ear infection, but what has gotten into me? I just got through with a 2.5 hour complete clean of the kitchen. I scrubbed cabinets, countertops, ledges, windows, sanitized bottles and bottle nipples, scrubbed the front of the refrigerator, stovetop, etc. It has been urking me that the entire house is due for a deep clean. I finally got the "itch" to do it when I put Kinsley Anne to bed tonight. Tomorrow, I will begin tackling our family room. That room leaves much to be desired & most certainly needs a new set of end tables & a coffee table, but I will at least get the room cleaned & prepared for its new items.

Without further ado, here is the clean kitchen.

this would be our energy bar...yes, kinsley's too. formula for K, coffee/hot cocoa for us.

I think fly lady would be proud of this sparkly sink!

one of my favorite wedding gifts..where I keep my kitchen utensils!

May not look like much to you, but when you can see countertops that you haven't seen in weeks, it's a HUGE sigh of relief for me. {ahh}

See you tomorrow to talk about "what I'm lovin'!"

Until Next Time..

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey Yall! Happy Wednesday! I know this is so yesterday, but did anyone else feel the earthquake yesterday?! We did!! It was one of those moments when you look around & think it is just me or should I ask why the building is moving? Anyway, I'm glad we're on stable ground today & without further ado, here is what I'm loving this Wednesday.

{1} That Kinsley Anne's "vocabulary" is expanding. She said "hey" twice yesterday to Avery, the puppy. She also is saying "dada," "gaga," "yaya," "gigi," and many other things. Her voice is one of the sweetest sounds I have ever heard.

{2} That everyday when Kyle gets home, Kinsley squeals with joy. I think she may just love him as much as I do!!

{3} That Lilly is having her end of summer sale!!

{4} Looking at house plans for "one day"...
We like to support Don Gardner, as he donated money to the NICU that Kinsley Anne stayed in because his grandson started his life there.

What are you loving today? Show us over at Jamie's blog!!

Until Next Time..

Kinsley Anne @ 10 months old!!!!!!

Kinsley Anne,
Today you are 10 months old. Just 2 short months away from becoming a one year old. It is so incredibly hard to believe. Each day that I look at you, I am seeing more & more of a toddler & less & less of a baby. It's hard on me, but I am feeling just so incredibly blessed that you have continued to develop..and on target, nonetheless.

Here is what you are up to at 10 months of age...
  • at your 9 month well visit (which was really only last week), you weighed 17# 15oz (~35%)
  • you were 28.5in long (~72%)
  • you are walking with a walking toy or alongside a couch. you are starting to walk if we hold 1 of your hands.
  • you can stand for ~10+ seconds alone
you like looking out the door windows to find your puppies
  • you crawl at supersonic speeds
  • you think it's a game when we open a cabinet or the refrigerator. you crawl as fast as you can to get there & try to pull as many things out as possible.
  • you have learned which cabinet has all of your food in it. it's at your level, which may not have been the best idea on our behalf.
you are a good nap taker & love school. here you are in your daycare crib!
that paper next to your name is your "curriculum" which gets changed weekly.
  • you started saying "dada" yesterday & "gaga" the day before. I had actually started to get concerned that you weren't yet "talking" aside from your "ahh's" but you proved me to be a worry wart for nothing!
  • you LOVE LOVE LOVE "Raffy," your Giraffe Angel Dear blankey. Therefore, your 1st birthday party will be Raffy themed.
  • loving table food. your schedule looks like this:
8am - eat breakfast at school & take a small bottle (max: 4oz)
11am - eat lunch at school & take a small bottle (max: 4oz)
230pm - eat a snack at school & take a small bottle (max: 4oz)
5pm - eat a small bottle (max: 4oz)
~630pm - eat supper at home
7pm - eat a bigger "night" bottle (~6-8oz)
  • absolutely loving bath time. you have never minded being wet, but now, you LOVE to "swim" and splash. It's really a hoot to watch. You splash gently and then all of a sudden you smack your hand into the water, which in turn, splashes you in the face, and you just blink a couple of times, and go right back to it! We could literally dump a bucket of water on your head, and you wouldn't cry one bit...you just blink it off!
  • you aren't a big fan of pajamas. you sleep in just a diaper most nights.
  • you still love your paci, but generally only have it for naps, nighttime, or in the evening shortly before you go to bed when you are at your slightly "whiney" time.
Kinsley Anne,
You are just the bright spot in our day. We both so look forward to seeing you after work each day. You light up when you see both of us & it is so much fun to watch you learn each day. We cannot wait (or maybe we can?!) to watch you in the next few months as you go through so many changes. As you begin to walk, talk, and change from our sweet 1st born baby girl to our charming 1st born little girl. We love you to the moon and back, ALWAYS.ALWAYS.ALWAYS.&FOREVER.

Love, your mama & daddy

Until Next Time..
Love, Jen

ps-sorry that I don't have tons of new pictures today. I need to upload a bunch from my big camera & lately, I feel like I've been taking more videos than pictures.
Anyone know how to get the iphone videos to upload via blogger? they don't seem compatible since they're .MOV files?!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey Yall! Today is the first day of school for the county that I work in & the phones have been ringing off the hook for medication notes for school! Whew, I'll be glad when this week is over. But, without further ado, here is what I'm loving this Wednesday!

{1} my husband of 3 years, as of yesterday!

{2} my sweet girl and all of her "gaga"s & "dada"s
i'm also loving her new kicks!
the nurse at work asked if she was attending jazzercise classes! ha!

{3} pinterest. i really need to set a time limit for myself or else I end up purusing for hours.

{4} flylady. she's slowly but surely helping me keep a cleaner home. i confess...i.am.the.worst.

{5} this kitchen with cream cabinets & a dark wood island. one day. {sigh}

{7} jacuzzi bathtubs. this is on the tippy-tippy-top of my must haves for our next home.

{8} planning Kinsley Anne's 1st birthday party! I can't believe her birthday is 2 months from tomorow!! where has time gone?!

Happy Anniversary!

3 years ago, I stood in front of 200 family members and friends, expressing to Kyle how much I loved him & promising, before God, that we would stand by each other's side through everything! I am the proud wife to a man's man..The pillar of our family..The strength & courage of our duo..The "Dave Ramsey" of our relationship..The best teacher to our little girl..My best friend through wonderful times as well as serious illness, international travel, the pregnancy & delivery of our sweet baby girl, the scary NICU stay & pure joy of our daughter, and the day-to-day in between. I cannot fathom spending my life with anyone else. Happy Anniversary Kyle!

This past weekend, Kyle's parents kept Kinsley Anne & we were off for a little anniversary adventure. Kyle planned it all, so I can't take any credit.

First, we went to Asheville (after all, it's practically in our backyard!). Kyle had signed us up for an off road Segway tour at the Biltmore. You can find out more on how to join in on an activity like that, here. We had a BLAST! The tour was about 2.5 hours, including ~30 minutes of "training." We even learned an "emergency dismount." Luckily, that skill was not needed. It was neat to be able to tour parts of the Biltmore grounds that are not typically seen.

just call us mall cops!

how neat would it be to look out your house and say, "yea, I own as far as you can see."

After we segwayed ourselves to death, we went to the farmhouse. We visited with all of the Biltmore critters. Then, after sufficiently scrubbing our hands raw with soap, we left the farmhouse & ate lunch.

an angora goat named Mo. I loved this guy!

We ate at Cedric's, named after the Vanderbilt's beloved St. Bernard. The food was great & the company was fantastic ;)

After stuffing ourselves to oblivion, we got back in the car & headed toward Greenville. Kyle got us reservations at a hotel downtown. Even though we are in Greenville very frequently, it was great to "get away" there & just relax. We were able to enjoy the HUGE hotel suite that Kyle got us and the downtown life that Greenville has to offer. We even cashed in on a gift certificate to a sushi restaurant downtown that we had gotten from a very kind friend for Christmas! I made the pitiful mistake of wanting to watch a movie in the room Saturday night. I chose "Life as You Know It." It was such a good movie, but I was in tears because it made me miss Kinsley Anne. It's hard to be away from a baby girl who is like your own heart crawling around outside of your body. Nonetheless, I survived (and she didn't knwo the difference!). Sunday, we were able to sleep in & slowly but surely, made it back home.

It was a refreshing trip away from reality. Here's to another 3 years and many more, Kyle. I love you to the moon & back!!!

Until Next Time..

Puppy Lesson Learned

Yesterday, I had an interesting afternoon. I left work, went & picked Kinsley Anne up from school, and decided that we would make a quick grocery trip before heading home. This is the 2nd week that I had planned to shop at Aldi. Last week, I scored by purchasing the majority of my groceries there for only $53. We probably spent another $25 throughout the week for various other necessities, but nonetheless, we kept well within the budget for our food. We only ate out 2-3 times in a 7 day period. That's great, for us! So, yesterday, I wanted to go to Aldi again. Except I wanted to try out a different location. I plugged it into my Google Maps app on my phone & off I went. Well, when I "arrived" at the destination, per my phone, I was at an ice cream shop. Delicious, I'm sure. But not what I was looking for. So, I try to plug it into the Garmin. It also says I arrived. But I hadn't. I was in a place I had never seen before (dumb idea #1) with a sleeping infant in my backseat. I tried to avoid tears and instead decided I would drive a few miles in one direction. Luckily, I picked the right direction & 3.5 miles later, on the left, was Aldi. I scored my groceries this week for $49. I guess the panic was worth it.

avery

When I got home, at 7pm, Kyle had also just arrived home. As we emptied my car out, we heard the dogs. They got into it. Let me back up for one moment. Bowen, our 2 year old dog, and Avery, our 1 year old GSP, are brother and sister. They have the same mom and dad doggies, but are from litters just more than 1 year apart. They couldn't be more different. Bowen is bird-crazy, ball-crazy, and can run any person I know, into the ground. But Avery is a very docile lap dog. She could care less, for the most part, about dog toys. Except when Bowen is showing interest in them. Yesterday, I guess, Avery had gotten on Bowen's nerves. So, by the time we got home & Bowen tried to bring us his toy, Avery tried to grab it, and that was just the straw that broke the camel's back. They growled and wrestled for about 10 seconds. Then, Avery ran over to us to greet us and Bowen went and picked up his toy and ran to greet us as well.

bowen

I casually looked at Kinsley Anne and said, you will not treat your brother or sister like that one day, do you hear me? And Kyle, wiser than me (true in many circumstances), said to her, "No, that is how we should treat our brothers and sisters. Tension builds up, you fight it out, and go right back to playing." Lesson learned. If we could just always be honest about what's annoying us or getting under our skin, argue it out (if necessary) with them, and then go back to being best friends, as you always should be with your siblings, how great would life be!!

I love you Bowen & Avery. You are part of our family just as much as any human member!!

Until Next Time..

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Good morning yall! It's Wednesday, which means we're on a downhill slide to the weekend!! I have several post drafts that I am finishing up about life recently. But, I caught the "crud" and have been hacking up a lung, so last night, I took cough medicine and got in bed early! So, hoepfully those will be up soon... Now, I'll stop rambling & show you what I'm loving this Wednesday!
{1} My sweet little girl who is INTO EVERYTHING! She started walking (on Monday evening) while holding onto her walker toys or sideways along the couch. She is keeping me busy to say the least!

she loves talking to the dogs through the door.

{2} My wonderful husband. We're coming up on an anniversary next week!! He is a great helper when it comes to getting Kinsley Anne ready in the mornings for daycare & offering to cook supper some nights! (I usually get home earlier than him, so I try to have it ready when he gets home, most of the time..)

{3} One of my patient's moms brought me a catalog for Biltmore Inspirations. She wants me to host a party & I am considering it because I am loving all of their home decor & snacks!!

{4} This beautiful comforter set. I am in ruffle heaven looking at it!!
{5} I am loving that this sign (potential for Kinsley Anne's "big girl" room one day?!) has the same quote on it that was on our March of Dimes shirt in her honor this year!

{6} This bench that we got for 1 of the empty walls in the guest bedroom that we redesigned this past weekend! post coming soon!

I'm on the hunt for the perfect little baskets to go underneath!

And you? What are you loving this week?? Head over to Jamie's blog, this kind of love, and let us know!

Until Next Time..
